Edwards Homestead

Edwards=
122 acres
conservation easement
1999

Only a portion of this property is under easement. The landowner wanted to keep his home and other associated buildings out of the conservation easement area. The Northcentral Pennsylvania Conservancy worked with him to accommodate his needs.

This property contains important springs and wetlands that drain into Plunketts Creek. The property also drains into Raspberry Run, a tributary of Bald Eagle Creek. As with most properties in northcentral Pennsylvania, this property filters and drains water that at some point enters the West Branch Susquehanna River and eventually the Chesapeake Bay.

The public views of this property are not limited to the Township Road that traverses part of the property. Because of the property’s location on a ridge top, the public on state-owned lands to the south and on a nearby interstate can also see portions of this property.
