acquisition
1999

The Northcentral Pennsylvania Conservancy, in cooperation with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, acquired more than 4,000 acres near Moshannon, Elk, and Sproul State Forests, and State Game Lands 100. The protection of this property will help to expand and protect the wildlife travel corridor in this area as well a provide more recreational access to the Susquehanna River.

This acquisition was possible thanks to a matching grant from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Keystone Land Trust Grant Program. The Northcentral Pennsylvania Conservancy and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation are working to transfer the property into public ownership, and into ownership by the Pennsylvania Game Commission and Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry.
